Coaching can help children to better understand themselves, their strengths, and areas of improvement. This increased self-awareness can help them to set goals that are better aligned with their personal values and what is important to them. By teaching young people to consider different options, the consequences of their choices, and make informed decisions, coaching can help them to become more independent and confident in their decision-making abilities. Coaching can also help young people develop effective communication skills and build positive relationships.
Wendy works together with young people to help them achieve goals that are meaningful and important to them. It is a collaborative process that focuses on solutions. Coaching sessions run for 50 minutes and can be conducted virtually, meaning there is no barrier to participation. Each session is tailored to the specific needs of the individual and is designed to be highly interactive and engaging. Your child will be encouraged to apply what they have learnt to help them form lasting healthy habits.
Wendy recommends booking in a minimum of four sessions, following the coaching process as outlined above.
Coaching is tailored to the individual's values, goals and current understanding. It is suitable for all students, including neurodiverse individuals. Wendy works within the Ethical Codes of the International Society of Coaching Psychology. Please note, coaching is not a substitute for psychotherapy. Wendy’s coaching methods and techniques are underpinned by the science of Coaching Psychology. She guides her clients in learning and growing, however the responsibility to make the desired changes ultimately lies with the individual.
There is currently no reimbursement for coaching through Medicare or Health Insurance, so no referral is necessary. Please note that coaching with Wendy is in high demand and availability is limited. To find out more, please contact Wendy for a free phone consultation. On the call, Wendy can provide more information about the coaching process and answer questions that are specific to your child.
